“Please dear God send me smart customers!”
What important to me is that my customers understand that our personal health is the heart of the matter.
It’s hard to live a good life when you are ailing.
Most health problems are the results of decisions made in lifestyle choices.
What you eat, how you exercise, how stressed you are at work and at home.
The dietary supplements I list on my website are the tip of the iceberg as to what you can do for yourself.
Some things we can do via the written word, or we can make a video, etc.
But in the end, it’s your choices in these areas that are most critical.
Mind State: How you think, what kind of attitude you exhibit, how much stress you can tolerate.
“As a man thinketh, so is he…” Who said that?
The first correct response emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org will be issued a $20 gift card.
Skeptics will say, “I tried that positive thinking stuff and it doesn’t work.”
Well, that is true too! If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, then you probably can’t. Paraphrased from Henry Ford.
All inventions and improvements to our lives and society started as an idea someone had. A thought.
Those skyscrapers in NYC didn’t build themselves.
I replaced a gasket for a leaking toilet and cost me $7. I didn’t know how to replace it but I googled it and a 90 second video showed me how.
The plumber who made the video did a good thing for me.
So Mind State is essential for staying on top of your game.
Exercise: If you don’t move your body, it will fail eventually.
Muscles need work to ensure their longevity. Circulation of the blood system and the lymph system especially is aided by movement.
I got to the gym at 20 past six last night and it was closing at 7pm. So I got on a row machine and rowed like I was crossing the Atlantic for 10 minutes then did my planking, push ups, stretched my legs and back. Had a shower and was done. It doesn’t take long to get the minimum exercise (30 minutes) but the biggest obstacle to getting exercise is sitting too much (in front of the TV!)
Diet: You are what you eat, a French philosopher noted in the early 1700’s.
Eat crap food, you will feel crappy eventually. Eat healthy food, you’ll feel better. Too much salt and sugar are the bane of processed foods. You’ve probably heard that cigarette manufacturers diversified into food products and used their research on addiction response to change the food industry. “Betcha can’t eat just one!” Yeah, that reveals the addictive quality of salt and sugar. You cannot eat just one because you have stimulated the part of the brain that seeks pleasure. Heroin addicts know this too, sad to say. The opioid crisis is not really new. Just the medium of addiction changes from time to time. I won’t get into here but you can imagine how the cartels are employing the same research in what they smuggle into the USA. What’s the solution? Eat clean, eat fresh, as much as possible.
Sleep: This is closes the circle and gets back to stress you may be experiencing in life. If you don’t sleep well, you will have 20 extra problems the next day.
Everything will seem a burden, your personal relations can suffer, your work can suffer. So focus on what you need to do in order to ensure a good night sleep. It begins about an hour before bed, stop watching TV, stop looking at your phone or IPad. The light emitted from screens will upset your circadian rhythm. Reading a book with the light source shining on the pages instead of into your eyes can help. Also ensuring you don’t have any flashing electronics in your room. I purposely charge my phone in another room, use dark curtains on the windows to block any street lights etc. Those last few minutes before sleep can best be spent thinking of others, praying for loved ones, setting intentions towards positive goals, etc. Some people keep a pen and notebook beside the bed to write down thoughts that come upon awakening.
The acronym derived from this formula is M.E.D.S. Better than pharmaceuticals in my opinion…
